i started watching this movie, but i fell asleep halfway through. In fact, I didn't even find it visually stunning.
I loved the space and the spacecraft shots. Very authentic because Kubrick shot miniatures with realistic lighting. Most movies shot in the 1960s and 70s look dated compared to this - expecially all the sci-fi ones. Star Wars for eg, though it was released a decade after this one.
