To be honest, I had expected the film to be loud and filmi. I didn't expect one without a soul.
But still worth a watch. My IMDb rating: 5/10
You sms to me - that it looked like a well-shot video game - is still a compliment that I don't think it derserves.
@Pirates: I haven't read the book but I have heard that the movie has been quite faithful to it. Which is why I lament Frank Miller's free-falling standards and not the movie's.
Btw, good to see you back on PG.
IQ, the book (actually a graphic novel) is perfectly fine. We have to remember the novel is just that: a novel.
Zack Snyder was directing a film. He should have been more careful while attempting the screenplay.
He has practically copied the book frame by frame. And therein lies the problem. You cannot copy a book and dump it on celluloid.
That, and a cast that should go back to acting school, messed up the film.
So, my disappointment is not with "Frank Miller free-falling standards" but with Zack Snyder's directorial ability.
If you see his filmography, his work includes commercials for BMW, Chevy, Budweiser, Isuzu and NFL Video game.
No wonder the film looks like a series of 30-second commercials strung together.
